The pattern we are going to try and follow in our apprenticeship program is called 3-thirds. The idea is to include enough time for people to process what they are learning.
1st 3rd = Review
We share stories of how the teaching from the week before went. It is also where we clear up questions.
2nd 3rd = Learn
A new idea is presented. For this training it will be sequentially related to other lessons.
3rd 3rd = Practice
We practice what we just heard. This includes questions and trying to present it to someone else.
The goal is for people to learn a series of ideas well enough to do them in their own life and to be able to more or less explain what you are doing and why to someone else.
